Georgia For Trains is a non-profit group in Atlanta, GA created by residents of the city to build support and awareness for an updated rail system in the city.
Challenge: The challenge here is that most residents of Atlanta do not take the train, and their experience and attitude toward riding the train is generally a negative one. It's a car culture and has been for decades.
Solution: Show residents that cars are not the convenient machines that they think they are. They produce traffic, gas, accidents, cost a lot of money, and generally unreliable.
Objective: Change the attitude of drivers, make then re-consider public transit as a good option for traveling in and out of the city.
Creative: We built two interactive billboards pulling in real time Instagram pictures from residents. One included citizens riding the train, highlight the positive experiences, and the other billboard pulled in people sitting in traffic, showing you that taking the car isn't always as convenient as you think.
We reinforced the campaign with web ads that sent users to GeorgiaForTrains.com where they could sign a petition that would be used as a tool to secure more funding for public transit.
